Kitty Cuteness, XV

Kitties turn into cats. People around here don't take as many pictures of cats as they do kitties. But I needed to have a Kitty Cuteness Day. I just needed it. And so here we are... Benedict is on the right. He's going to be 1 year old very soon. Lucy is on the left; he turns 17 in July! How did Arnold get on my back? He flung himself at me, clawed his way up my back, and decided to stay a while.   Benedict really doesn't want to be photographed... He'd rather hang out here.  Now, it's on to a full day of teaching, heart dissection (YES!), and writing. Happy Tuesday to you!

I know a lot of people who LOVE cats. I am not one of them. Yes, we own four cats. I LOVE those cats. But I do not LOVE the cats of other people. I can easily ignore other people's cats because they are not mine. (I think I feel like that about kids, too. I'm not sure, so let me think about that.) Anyway, these cats--whether they are mine or yours or your neighbor's--are really cute while they're little. And then, they grow up. And wake you up at 4:13 a.m. every morning, or piss on your clean laundry. Or, play soccer with the piece of Kix until it gets stuck under the dog's water bowl and instead of letting it go--oh no, he can't let it go--decides that it's a good time to try to get under the dog's water bowl, emptying the bowl on the wood floor. Oh. Your cat doesn't do that? Benedict and Arnold--those traitors (Ha!)--do that. ALL. THE. TIME. Hell cats, I tell you. Sometimes it's hard to love these cute kitties, but I do. So today, for the...

Sixteen days until the kids start school. Sixteen! So little time and so much to do. So I'm not writing today, I'm posting more kitty cuteness.

I think Tuesdays are going to become "post your best kitty photo" day. These littles just keep giving us some great photo ops. And since it's already almost 2 p.m. and the human littles will be heading home soon, I don't have much time to write. So ruminate on this face or use it as a writing prompt. I know I will.

Because who couldn't stand some kitty cuteness on a Tuesday morning? Clearly, these cats lead a charmed life. No trouble adjusting here, I tell you.

A Day in the Life

I had the good luck of coming home early from work yesterday, so that I could witness the difficult life of two 8-week-old kittens. I thought I'd have some fun and get into the story via their point of view. Under the glider rocker is one of the best places to sit, don't you think? Will my brother be able to find me? And what are you doing, taking a photograph of me?  Rats. Benedict found me, so we we thought under the table might be a good place to play. Too many legs, though. What is this big furry thing that lays on the floor all the time? He's huge! Maybe he will be a good hiding place. The big furry thing does not hide me as well as I thought. I'm a little done with hiding. I think it's time for a nap. I'm sure the shot is blurry. I should tell her that I'm sorry. I just have so much energy, it's hard to sit still... Unless I'm sleeping...It's my turn to be there! As you can see, I'm tired, too. But hey!...
