Friends (and Sisters)

I gravitate toward certain sayings like a moth to a flame. This one tickled me in the right spot: "Friends come and go, like the waves of the ocean, but the true ones stay, like an octopus on your face."

True fact: I once had a small octopus stuck to my arm. It left suction marks and everything.

I'm not sure I could exactly explain why, but I'm a little jealous that you have a story in which an octopus was stuck to your arm.

Bethany, it's not a great story. But it is a wonderful memory.

It doesn't have to be a good story... just the fact that you can say, "The first time an octopus was stuck to my arm..." the response to that statement alone is worth something. The rest of the story doesn't have to be much after that.
